Your Stand

Remember those earlier days after you had received the light when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Hebrews 10:32

All Christians, Jew, & Gentile, need to be reminded continually that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.”
Ephesians 6:12

Satan takes his song and sings to our weakest point. He takes the good and makes it evil, the bad and makes it worse. God chooses the symphony that makes us our best, using all the black and white notes of circumstance. He takes the ugly and makes it beautiful. He takes the bad and makes it good. He takes the good and makes it Godly.

For us to experience the symphony authored by God that is uniquely ours, we must remain strong in a strength that is not our own. We must remain strong in the Lord and strong in His mighty power. Ephesians 6:10 We stay strong by putting on the armor supplied by God and by praying. The armor to stand and the prayer support to accompany the stance must be used together for our walk to be effective.

11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places13

Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. 14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), 15 and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. 16 Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. As the Word of God is spoken, sung, and prayed back to the Lord and the Heavens, Satan must flee. Do we really believe that truth always prevails? What a Sword! How can a sword be used effectively if we are not STANDING? Ephesians 6:17

All creation will STAND in awe of You, O Eternal One.
    Thanks will pour from the mouths of every one of Your creatures;
    Your holy people will bless You. Psalm 145:10
(Voice Translation)

Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Ephesians 6:18. We don’t always know what to pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

“And He who searches our hearts and knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” Romans 8:26,27

As we take all requests to God in prayer, our words and thoughts are sifted and transformed as only the God of the Trinity can do. This an awesome example of His strength and His power.

May He find us persevering and faithful.
Through the fires of our life, may He find us STANDING on our knees!
